England, UK

This was perhaps my way of fulfilling my yearning to be in nature after being in my Victorian home during the Covid pandemic. Now that I am living in the Southwest countryside of England, I am questioning my need for painting trees and nature. At the time, these paintings were my way to maintain mental wellbeing during the lockdown, despite being apart from my future wife so early in our relationship.

Of course, it’s not just about trees, it’s about all plants that seem more than capable to clambor over or through any man-made obstacle. A theme I carry in my mind when walking in the countryside or urban setting. My wife will testify that going on a planned OS walk can take a lot longer than predicted. I tend to stop, very frequently, observing things close up and taking far too many photos on my phone.
