When the sea beckons

Metaphorically, it is said that “people fail to see the bigger picture in things.”
It is my opinion that we often fail to see how awesome the smaller things in life are.
We just need to take the time to sit down and look at things, without the distraction of our phones or other people around. I find the more time I spend really looking at things, the more they reveal themselves in ways that I didn’t expect.
I personally get a lot of pleasure from picking up pebbles and shells from the shoreline, turning them over in the palm of my hand.
These studies were made using acrylic on wood panel, in quick brush strokes and marks to convey the texture and roughness of each shell.
Each of these original paintings can be purchased via my store front on Saatchi Art.
